Hibiscus

Artist: Viza Arlington
Title: Hibisus
Woodcut on Rives BFK with Chine Colle using tissue paper treated to balance the pH levels printed by hand with baren some painting with water color
image size: 19X25.5 inches
edition: 40
signed and numbered original print
This is the best picture I could get but it doesn't show how vibrant the colors really are but it is close
but that is why I used the tissue paper even though its a pain to treat it with the "make it acid free" spray I just love the way tissue paper looks. I am also planning to spray it with a varnish that has uv protection in it. This tissue paper claims to be reasonably lightfast and so far my north facing window test is suggesting that it is but a little extra protection cant hurt right?

Beautiful, Viza! You note that you used some water color and some tissue paper. Which colors are the chine colle tissue paper? Very nice.

Thanks Annie,
the red and yellow in the very center of the flower are watercolor. i wad up a piece of tissue paper dampen it then dip it in red watercolor and dab it on the flower to give it a little more depth.
