Shoji Lanterns exchange print
Artist: Viza Arlington
Title: Shoji Lanterns
paper size: 4 X 10 inches
image size: 3 X 9 inches
edition: 100
Black oilbased ink woodcut on Hosho paper with chine colle using tissue paper and a little pastel in the light cast by the lanterns printed by hand with a baren. I didn't carve the light cast by the lanterns i just wiped those areas with a rag.
These are the solar shoji lanters that hang in my garden, a gift from my mom;) I love looking out at them from my window at night sometimes i imagine a little cricket singing in the spotlight.

Its a lovely print, Viza. I'm glad I'm in this exchange and will have one.
Elegant solution for the paper shape. Yum.
Sad that I'm not in the exchange now!
Lucky people in the exchange! Wonderful image.
