Gold and Silver Falls (woodblock print)
Artist: Viza Arlington Title: Gold and Silver Falls oil-based woodbock print with gold and silver leaf the sky is silver leaf with india ink rubbed into it image size:17X26 paper size: 22X30
Thanks. I does look very art deco. I am working on a woodblock of the chrysler building as well that will have silver leaf. Linda my process is simple but very time consuming. I carved out the white lines with a gouge then printed with black oil-based ink. let dry. then paint sizing between the lines and apply the leafing. sometimes it sticks to places it shouldn't and i just gently scrap it off with a knife.

Oooooooh! That is GORGEOUS Viza!
Thanks Annie. I really love Japanese black lacquered writing boxes with gold powder and inlays, they served as my inspiration for this piece.

What an effective print! Love the results, and thanks for explaining your process.
This is stunning. Viza. You make it sound easy with the leaf application but, having tried it myself, I know it's very difficult and time consuming.
